I sent Bitcoin from Blockchain and 12 hours later there are still no confirmations. I think it's because Blockchain put the transaction fee too low, is there anything I can do about this or do I just have to sit and wait? After a certain amount of time will the coins go back to my initial wallet?

I really wish wallets more accurately predicted confirmation times, to keep fees lower and save people money. I just sent a low priority tx and it still got confirmed in less than five minutes, but the estimation was for half an hour (using Mycelium). /r/Bitcoin

Hello all! I'm super peeved at this current pickle that I am in. Yesterday around mid-day I sent a transaction from my Electrum Bitcoin Wallet to my DN market wallet. The market address changed within the last day and I really dont want my coins to be lost in limbo. Can someone tell me what the hell is the issue an maybe some possible solutions? Here is the transaction from blockchain.

Let's see how long a BTC transaction with low fees REALLY takes.

This isn't meant to trash Bitcoin, or the main bitcoin sub. I own and use both BTC and BCH - and I sort of think the two can coexist. BUT you'll pretty frequently read over there that transactions with fees as low as 1sat/byte are completely workable ON THE MAIN CHAIN. The argument is that BCH DOESNT actually have lower fees, because cheap BTC transactions will confirm just fine. (eventually).
I wanted to play around with exactly how to define "eventually," so I built a small transaction in electrum. I'll link it below. You'll note lock time was 654079. As i write this post, we are currently on block 654159. I think it will be interesting to see what the height is when the transaction is actually confirmed. Any guesses?
Edit: Confirmed in block 654222! It took apprx 140 blocks for a transaction to confirm with extremely low fees (in a fairly crowded environment). It worked out to be almost exactly 24 hrs.

Based on the fee, my bitcoin core node estimates the tx should be confirmed within about 19 blocks time, which is up to another 3 hours away.

Basically waiting to see what happens with the current transaction I have pending. Sent from a Blockchain.info wallet but did not set fee correctly so it's been pending with no confirmations for just about 45 hours as of now. If I didn't wanna wait to see what's gonna happen with the first transaction. Will sending a similar amount with a higher fee cause any issues with the first transaction, or will it just send with a higher priority because I actually set a correct fee? I've done some researching on it myself but haven't really found a clear answer. Most end up just with myself more confused and worrying that I'll cause a longer delay or a new issue.
